I know that recent events have disrupted the peace of our small town and troubled you. But I hope you will be cautious when it comes to the decision to participate in this storm. Maintaining public order is the sheriff's job, and you should trust and leave everything to me.

It's all over, and the people I care about are all safe. To be honest, I'm really relieved. My work has been much more leisurely lately, and I even have time to sit down and write a casual letter.
I don't think I've ever told you about my life before becoming a sheriff, though there's nothing worth mentioning. The days were plain and mundane. I was young and naive, working and living day by day, and my heart was filled with simple happiness. Perhaps it was because I enjoyed such a life that I had the courage to stand up and defend the peace of the town when the bandits attacked. You should be able to understand my thoughts. I can feel the same determination in you when you decide to take risks.
