Letters[]

First Letter

Cleo

Are you surprised to receive a letter from me? Alright, I know I rarely write letters. We live so close to each other, after all. There's no reason to actually write one. However, there will be times when we must be apart from each other, so it might be a good idea to form a habit of writing them now. What do you think, Cleo?

I saw a crocodile relaxing on the riverbank while on my way here. It looked so satisfied basking in the sunlight. However, I don't have a good impression of them. Do you still remember the time when we want on a boat trup with father? We were very young then, enjoying life on the boat, singing and dancing as it sailed down the Nile.
However, Ptolemy XIII almost pushed you out of the boat while there were many crocodiles around us. Who knows if it was on purpose? He's a cowardly fool who lets Pothinus use him, and a disgrace to the Ptolemaic Dynasty!

Ah, I've gone off topi, although I didn't have one in the first place... Regardless, you are more suited to be Pharaoh than Ptolemy, and we will definitely emerge victorious.

Your sister

Second Letter

Cleopatra VII

Cleopatra, I am disappointed that you have ditched your dignity. I even questioned whether we made the right choices. You are capable of being a good Pharaoh, but you chose to hand Egypt over to the Romans! So, what do you intend to do from now on? Live an aristrocrat's life in Rome while you let our people suffer under Roman rule? I won't let that happen. I will protect Egypt, as long as I'm alive!

But... is this true? Have you really become so cowardly? I don't want to believe it. Could this just be a part of your plan? It better be. Don't give up on your pride, Cleo. Don't give Egypt's land to the Romans. You know I view Egypt's independence as being far more important than my own life.

Regardless, I'm willing to help you in any way I can, as long as it's for Egypt.

Arsinoe

Third Letter

Cleopatra,

To tell you the truth, I felt guilty while writing this letter. You must have been hurting from those accusations... I'm sorry, Cleo. I never expected things to turn out this way. I believed we could weather everything together as close companions, even when Ptolemy betrayed you, and Egypt was left in a precarious position.
However, I can no longer lie to myself. Something has indeed changed.

Do you still remember the lighthouse? I'm looking at it now. It's beautiful, standing tall and proud, guiding travelers with a light that pierces through the night. When we were young, I asked you what a lighthouse was, and why we had to build one. You said it represented the pride and glory of Egypt. You protected it, as well as Egypt. But at what cost? You've become someone totally different from the one in my memories. I can't promise that I will be able to follow you with that same amount of trust as before, but I will always cherish the good times we spent together.

Your sister, Arsinoe
