Letters[]

First Letter

To the beauty on the carpet

Our meeting has left a deep impression on me, dear beauty on the carpet. You seem to hold a kind of power over me, making me wonder if I will find an intelligent and bold woman hiding in every rug I see. I have seen many women, but they are not unique as you are. They are common, like daisies and roses, but you're like the beautiful Iris flower, its purple color mysterious and wise, making me want to know you better.

Your sharp and precise words have impressed me. It is indeed much better working with intelligent people than foolish ones. Honestly, Ptolemy and Pothinus have been very disappointing. While Pompey is a worthy opponent, he should have fallen under my blade gloriously in battle and not ended up being killed by his allies. I believe you agree with me too.

By the way, I am looking forward to our next meeting, and perhaps we can finish what your priest had interrupted.

Caesar

Second Letter

Dear ally of mine

Your recent performance has been impressive. You have delivered what you promised. My subordinates remind me that I smiled upon hearing what you have done. I suspect that you must possess some form of magic that makes me so besotted with you.

Your achievements deserve a special gift. Yes, I have already prepared it. You may now put this letter down and close your eyes to guess what it could be. In three, two, one... It is time to reveal your gift.

I believe you must have heard about my victory in the Gallic War. The Gallic chieftain and priests have hoarded a vast amount of gold and jewelry. I have distributed them to my troops, but I have kept the best ones for you, my loyal ally. Such a beautiful and wise Pharaoh like you deserves to be adorned with the best jewelry. If they had a mind of their own, they would be honored to have an owner like you.

Gaius Julius Caesar

Third Letter

To my Pharaoh

I used to think that nothing could have made me afraid, be it the cruel battlefield, the harsh environment, or the cunning acts of my people. After experiencing all of that, my weakness now seems illogical. It is often said that good leaders must know how to control their weaknesses, but I now want to embrace them. Do you know why? It is because my weakness is you, my Pharaoh, and I am very willing to let you be my Achilles' heel.

It is hard to imagine that I could be attached to anything at all, not even good food, fine wine, or beautiful women. They merely play a minor role in my life. I always face forwards, towards broader lands to be conquered. But for once, I feel the urge to stop just for you.

Of course, I won't stop here, for I'm born a conqueror. I'll continue to expand the empire and push it to greater heights, making it invincible. Does such a large empire need a queen? My answer to that is yes, and I have found the best candidate.

My Pharaoh, will you let me share the glory of the Roman Empire with you?

Your love
