"As a doctor, I disagree that prolonged illness makes a doctor out of a patient. If the earliest symptoms are ignored, even a minor ailment can develop into a chronic illness." |
"I saw you wandering around Hyde Park. Is there anything I can help with, Miss Rayes?" |
Upon Receiving a Preferred Gift* |
"Miss Rayes always manages to see through me. Looks like I need to make a trip to Picadilly today." |
"A gift is a way for the giver to express their feelings. I'm touched, Miss Rayes." |
Upon Receiving a Non-Preferred Gift* |
"Thank you. I will feel at ease looking at this while I'm on the train to another medical appointment." |
"If you have difficulty choosing a gift, you can talk a walk with me instead. It's also a kind of gift, isn't it?" |
After Using All Interactions Attempts |
"You look tired. Let me send you home to rest." |
*If you give gifts in batches and the total is 20 affection points or more, even if they are 1-star gifts and the traits do not match, the Companions will still show that they liked the gifts and say a quote of appreciation.

Letters[]
First Letter
Miss Rayes
Good day, Miss Rayes.
The accidental meeting surprised me greatly, and I can't help feeling that this is all fated. That pleasant smile on your face tells me that the social season hasn't given you much trouble so far, but I must still warn you that you should always bring a companion with you wherever you go, for your own safety.
If there's anything I can help you with, please feel free to contact me. All the best.

Second Letter
Miss Rayes
Miss Rayes, how have you been?
The weather's been rather temperamental lately, and the temperature can differ greatly between morning and afternoon. I keep seeing patients who've caught the cold. It may seem like a minor ailment compared to the epidemic, but the symptoms can still affect one's mood and disrupt one's daily life. So please take care of your health, Miss Rayes.
Are you still investigating the epidemic? With the disease spreading, I have postponed longer trips indefinitely, and will be staying in London until the disease is gone. If you're still curious about the disease, you can ask me along, and I can help you figure out medical issues. You can trust me on that.
Looking forward to your invite, and wishing you all the best.

Third Letter
Miss Rayes
The truth we seek is often hidden in the past, and the longer it's buried, the fuzzier the information retrieved. If you're further misguided, the truth will be distorted like images in a kaleidoscope, and you'll never be able to see it for what it is.
No matter how truth presents itself to me, it has accompanied me through my darkest times, and made me the Edward Grey I am today. I once chased after the truth day after day, and spent my all to expose the darkness within. But one day, I finally realized that perhaps the darkness is the truth. If the train is rushing through the valley, we might as well see it to its end, even if we don't know how to stop it.
Perhaps when the time comes, I'll be able to put down all of my resentment. Then like a child, I'll finally learn how to embrace others again...
Last but not least, I hope I didn't burden you with this letter.
Edward
Night Rose's Chorus Event
To a knowledgeable young lady
Your intentions have been conveyed, Miss Rayes. Given your usual demeanor, this gesture seems a bit exaggerated... However, if I say I can sense the affection behind it, it should not tarnish your reputation.
Jesse has always made fun of my old-fashioned ways, complaining that I am too rigid and adhere too closely to etiquette. Sometimes, when he sees me busy with work, he goes out of his way to take me to social events, trying his best to open a door for me to a life of comfort and leisure. I am touched by his kindness, but I know deep down that such a life is not what I want. My nature is indeed rigid and dull, whether it's inherent or developed over time. Deep inside, a shadowy presence is always chasing me, pushing me forward, to walk a righteous path. For me, that is the meaning of life.
Yet, I cannot deny that the moments that truly bring me happiness are no different from those of ordinary people. Despite the overwhelming pressure of duty and reason, some things can still easily sway my heart. For example, a beautiful melody, a bright morning, or... a smile from you. Is this allowed? Just as a devout missionary sips fine wine, even a single sip can enchant him for life.
Perhaps there is no entirely correct answer to this question. But I will await your reply.
