  • The icy cold water jolts me awake.
  • It takes me a few seconds to realise I'm tied to a chair in Juliano's mansion.
  • Juliano is sitting on a couch across from me with a whip in his hand. He has a horrible sneer on his face.
  • Francesco Juliano: Ah, you're finally awake.
  • As I regain my senses, the pain all over my body returns as well.
  • I start to remember the events from before I passed out.
  • On my way to Aunt Tara's to celebrate Juliano's birthday, the gun I was hiding in my skirt was found.
  • Juliano called off the party immediately and had his men bring me here.
  • Despite the torture, I did not give up any information on Puzo or our plans.
  • Francesco Juliano: So why were you hiding a gun?
  • You: It's... It's for self-defence...
  • Juliano gives me a wicked smile and whips me without any hesitation.
  • The pain sears through my body and I almost pass out again.
  • You: Please believe me, Mr. Juliano... That's really the truth!
  • Francesco Juliano: Do you still think I'll believe you, Lisa?
  • He gives me another lash.
  • I break out in cold sweat and begin to feel faint. I can no longer tell if it's due to the pain or fatigue.
  • As my sweat reaches old wounds, the cuts burn.
  • Juliano takes a break and sips his coffee.
  • Juliano's Subordinate: We've found something, boss.
  • Juliano gives me a death stare and waves his man over.
  • Upon hearing what his man has to say, Juliano's face turns red with anger.
  • Juliano pushes the man aside and gives me a ruthless kick.
  • The kick lands squarely on my chest and I fly backwards.
  • I want to curl up in pain but I am still tied to the chair. The only thing I can do is gasp and writhe like a dying fish.
  • Juliano walks over, the heels of his shoes tapping rhythmically against the smooth marble floor.
  • He towers over me like a god judging a doomed man.
  • Francesco Juliano: I guess I've underestimated you...
  • Francesco Juliano: ...Elizabeth Colvin.
  • My heart sinks.
  • You: (It's over... H-He knows everything.)

  • The dancers of the famous Sparrow Room in New York are busy getting ready.
  • Mrs. Molly: Hurry up! Mr. Juliano is already here!
  • Natasha: Are we expecting other guests besides Mr. Juliano? Everything about tonight feels so grand!
  • Mrs. Molly: Why are you even asking? Just make sure everything is ready!
  • Mrs. Molly rushes out of the packed dressing room.
  • Lily: I've heard that there will be another VIP coming tonight.
  • Lily: Do you remember Mr. Puzo? The one who fought with Mr. Juliano over Lisa.
  • Lily: He's Mr. Juliano's guest for tonight.
  • Natasha: They don't really get along. Why would they be here together?
  • Lily: You can never tell what's going through the minds of these bigwigs.
  • Natasha: Speaking of which, I haven't seen Lisa for a few days. She's not with Mr. Juliano either...
  • Lily: Haha, he must be tired of her already.

  • Juliano is seated right next to the stage, watching the dancers in silence.
  • Even though the dancers are trying their best to get his attention, he remains expressionless.
  • Swirling the glass in his hand, he takes a sip of whiskey.
  • He gestures for one of his men to come over.
  • Francesco Juliano: Is he here yet?
  • Juliano's Subordinate: No, boss.
  • Francesco Juliano: Continue to watch the door. He's definitely going to show up.
  • Juliano's men nod in acknowledgement. Before they can leave, they hear a loud voice coming from the entrance.
  • Juliano sits up and watches the door warily.
  • Juliano's Subordinate: H-He's here, boss!
  • Francesco Juliano: We'll proceed with our plan. Is everything ready?
  • Juliano's Subordinate: Yes, boss.
  • Almost all of the seats in the nightclub are occupied by Juliano and his men.
  • A man wearing a black trench coat appears at the entrance with about 10 men in tow.
  • He walks up to Juliano without an ounce of hesitation.
  • Francesco Juliano: What a surprise. I didn't think you'd show up.
  • Francesco Juliano: Why the long face, Vittorio?
  • Francesco Juliano: I ask you to come here for a drink, not a fight.
  • Francesco Juliano: Have a seat! Get your men to take it easy too! The next performance is specially prepared for you!
  • Vittorio furrows his brows, but accepts Juliano's offer to sit down.
  • Three dancers in bunny outfits emerge from backstage.
  • Their coy expressions and shapely figures tantalise the senses of all the men in the club.
  • Juliano is enjoying the performance, tapping his feet to the rhythm of the music.
  • A man pushing a red velvet box onto the stage.
  • Francesco Juliano: Look, Vittorio! That's my surprise for you!
  • Vittorio doesn't smile, but his frown deepens.
  • The bunny dancers guide Juliano onto the stage.
  • Juliano gives Vittorio a wide grin.
  • Francesco Juliano: Watch closely, Vittorio!
  • Juliano quickly pulls of the velvet cloth and kicks the box off the trolley.
  • There is a dull thud and something rolls out of the box.
  • Lily: Eeek! There's a dead body!
  • The dancers scream and run backstage while Vittorio's and Juliano's men stand ready.
  • A woman has rolled out of the box and she is lying lifelessly on the floor.
  • Her tattered clothes are stained with blood.
  • Her disheveled hair obscured her face.
  • Vittorio Puzo: What is this about, Juliano?
  • Juliano walks to the body and steps on her back. He pulls her hair, and reveals a battered face caked with blood.
  • Francesco Juliano: Have you forgotten about Elizabeth, Vittorio?
  • Even though her face is covered in dirt and blood, Vittorio can tell that it's Elizabeth.
  • He clenches his fist and tried to suppress his rage.
  • Vittorio Puzo: I'll do anything you ask. Just let her go.
  • Francesco Juliano: I must say I wasn't expecting such generosity from you when I invited you here.
  • Francesco Juliano: What makes you think you're in the position to bargain?
  • Francesco Juliano: I'm planning to have some fun today. Too bad it's not going to involve you.
  • Juliano points a gun at Elizabeth's head.
  • Vittorio Puzo: Juliano, stop!
  • Vittorio's men stop him before he can rush onto the stage.
  • Juliano's men have surrounded them. Any sudden movement may very well be their last.
  • Francesco Juliano: I am capable of showing mercy, especially to those who have shown me a good time before.
  • Francesco Juliano: There's only one bullet in here.
  • Francesco Juliano: I'll let her go if she survives five pulls of the trigger. How about that?
  • Vittorio Puzo: N-No, you can't do that!
  • Francesco Juliano: Let's begin!
  • Francesco Juliano: One.
  • Francesco Juliano: Not bad!
  • Francesco Juliano: Hopefully, her luck holds.

  • The sound of a gunshot wakes me.
  • My eyes struggle to adjust to the lights in the room.
  • Vittorio Puzo: Let go of her, Juliano, or I'll put a bullet between your eyes.
  • You: (Is that... Vittorio...?)
  • There seems to be something heavy holding me down. I try to struggle free but to no avail.
  • Francesco Juliano: Your Elizabeth is awake, Vittorio.
  • Hearing Juliano's voice sends shivers down my spine.
  • You: (What is he up to now... Hasn't he been torturing me for the last few days?)
  • You: (...It's your fault for leaving me untied.)
  • I try moving my fingers. To my surprise, I still have some strength in my hands.
  • After a few painful whimpers, I flop back on the floor like a dead fish.
  • Francesco Juliano: Oh, poor girl, she's out again.
  • Juliano eyes the pistol in his hand and remembers there's unfinished business.
  • Francesco Juliano: Shall we continue--
  • Francesco Juliano: Ah!
  • While Juliano was distracted, I'd taken the chance to bite down on his left leg.

  • Almost immediately, Vittorio fires a shot and hits Juliano on the arm.
  • Vittorio's opening shot turns the entire club into a bloody battlefield.
  • After freeing myself from Juliano, I manage to roll off to one side of the stage.

  • As I fall off the stage, I find myself in a warm and familiar embrace.
  • ...It's Vittorio. With the help of his men, we manage to get to cover.

  • Despite the danger, Vittorio holds me tightly.
  • Vittorio Puzo: I'm sorry, Elizabeth.
  • Hearing him say that makes me tear up a little.
  • You: It's not your fault. This happened because I slipped up.
  • You: If I gained Juliano's trust, all of this wouldn't have happened.
  • Vittorio Puzo: The plan to assassinate him was a mistake from the start.
  • Vittorio Puzo: I... I shouldn't have allowed you to take the risk.
  • Before I can reply, a gunshot rings out close by.
  • Nino Ricci: It's not safe here!
  • Vittorio's men provide cover fire as we escape to the dressing room holding hands.

  • In the short distance to the backstage, Vittorio has lost two more men.
  • Nino Ricci: We should leave now, boss!
  • Vittorio peers at the door and frowns. He is visibly worried about our current situation.
  • Vittorio Puzo: Nino and Giorgio. I want you two to take Miss Colvin out of here.
  • Vittorio Puzo: The rest of you, follow me back to the main hall.
  • Nino and Giorgio start protesting.
  • You: No... W-Why are you going back in?
  • You: You should leave with us. There is nothing here worth staying for.
  • Vittorio Puzo: I have my reasons for staying here.
  • Vittorio Puzo: There's nothing to worry about.
  • I shake my head furiously, tears welling up in my eyes.
  • You: No. I'm not leaving if you're going to stay here.
  • Vittorio Puzo: I need to settle the score with Juliano. Your presence would only be a distraction. Understand?
  • I stay silent. There's nothing I can say to change his mind.
  • Vittorio Puzo: We're going to rush out there. The two of you follow after with Miss Colvin.
  • Vittorio Puzo: Keep her safe at all cost.
  • Once his men acknowledge his instructions, Vittorio heads for the door.
Go with Vittorio's Plan
  • With one hand on his gun and the other on my arm, Nino looks at me with mixed feelings.
  • Giorgio raises his gun and stands ready.
  • Nino Ricci: No matter what happens, you need to keep up with us. Alright?
  • Even though my eyes remain on Vittorio, I nod in agreement.
  • Vittorio turns around. He must have sensed my gaze somehow and our eyes meet.
  • I can see joy, sadness, and anger in his eyes. They remind me of both the good and the bad times...
  • But I just can't quite describe all the details...
  • Vittorio Puzo: Okay, let's go.
  • He charges out of the dressing room without hesitation.

  • We encounter an intense gun fight the moment we leave the dressing room.
  • Most of Juliano's men have their sights trained on Vittorio. He probably set up the meeting just to take Vittorio down.
  • Nino and I manage to escape the Sparrow Room unscathed. However, Giorgio was not so lucky.

  • You: I'll be fine from here, Nino. Vittorio needs your help.
  • Nino Ricci: The boss' instruction is for me to stay here and keep you safe.
  • You: There's no danger here! Aren't you worried about Vittorio's safety?
  • Nino Ricci: I'm not going against the boss' orders. I also believe that he's not going to--
  • Boom!
  • There is a sudden explosion from within the Sparrow Room. Both Nino and I are startled.
  • You: Was that... an explosion?
  • Nino Ricci: It must be. We did not expect Juliano to have explosives with him...
  • You: What... What should we do? Should we call the police?
  • Nino Ricci: No. If we call the police, the boss will be in trouble.
  • You: I'm going back in. I need to find him!
  • Nino Ricci: Wait, Miss Colvin! Listen to me--
  • I free myself from Nino's grip and run towards the Sparrow Room.
  • Something hits me on the back of my head and I find myself falling to the ground...

  • Nino Ricci: Sorry, Miss Colvin.
  • Nino Ricci: I can't go against the boss' wishes.

  • The weather here is always good.
  • Every evening, I walk along the beach alone.
  • In a quiet city like Cefalù, time slows to a crawl.
  • When I have this much time, everything that has happened replays countless times in my head.
  • The events of that fateful day six months ago are still fresh in my mind...
  • When I woke up, I was already on a boat to the island of Sicily.
  • Nino told me this is all part of Vittorio's plan.
  • Before they went to the Sparrow Room that day, Vittorio instructed him to take me to Sicily should anything unexpected happen.
  • I asked Nino what would be considered unexpected.
  • He smiles but did not answer me. The only thing he said was that Cefalù is the only place safe from Juliano.
  • When we arrived at Cefalù, I learned that this place is Vittorio's hometown.
  • Nino left me with an elderly lady before leaving. He said he would be back in half a year's time.
  • Life in a city this small can be quite monotonous.
  • If only I can see Vittorio sooner, instead of having to wait six months.
  • But even after six months, Vittorio has yet to show up.
  • I walk along the beach every day, hoping to catch a glimpse of a boat from afar.
  • Maybe tomorrow, or the day after, or in another month, I'll finally be able to see the person I am waiting for.

  • Obtained the ending [An Endless Wait]
Insist on Staying
  • You: I'm not leaving, Vittorio.
  • You: With Nino and Giorgio here, you'll have a better chance of getting Juliano.
  • Both Nino and Giorgio nod in agreement.
  • Vittorio Puzo: That's not going to happen. I'll leave things to you, Nino.
  • Nino appears conflicted but he still grabs me by my arm.
  • Nino Ricci: The boss wants the best for you, Miss Colvin.
  • Nino Ricci: No matter what happens, you need to stay close to us. Alright?
  • You: You know there's nothing you can do if I choose to run off, right?
  • Vittorio Puzo: ...Elizabeth.
  • You: Fine, just leave one of your men with me. The rest of them can stay with you.
  • You: Since you're Juliano's main target, I'll be safe if I just hide here.
  • Vittorio appears to be open to my proposal.
  • Vittorio Puzo: You'll stay with her then, Nino.
  • You: Let Giorgio stay behind.
  • You: Nino is one of your most trusted men. You can't leave him with me at such a critical moment.
  • Nino looks at Vittorio expectantly.
  • There's another round of gunfire in the main hall. Vittorio knows he's running out of time.
  • You: I'll find somewhere to hide here. Just leave Giorgio with me.
  • Vittorio Puzo: ...Fine.
  • Vittorio looks at me one last time before heading out the door.
  • I can see joy, sadness, and anger in his eyes. They remind me of both the good and the bad times...
  • But I just can't quite describe all the details...

  • After much deliberation, I decide to hide in the dressing room.
  • My heart races with each gun shot I hear in the main hall.
  • You: (Please be safe, Vittorio!)
  • In tense situations like these, time always slows to a crawl.
  • Over time, the number of gunshots reduce significantly.
  • An unpleasant thought strikes me... What if Juliano got to him instead?
  • I hear hurried footsteps approaching the dressing room...
  • Vittorio Puzo: Come with me, Elizabeth. It's over.
  • Hearing his voice fills me with joy and I leap into his arms.

  • Accompanied by a few of his men who survived, Vittorio and I run across the hall to get to the exit--
  • Boom!
  • The explosion catches all of us off-guard.
  • The impact knocks me backwards, separating me from Vittorio.
  • I land on the ground with a loud thud. The pain cuts deep, but I try hard to look for Vittorio...
  • Finally, I catch a glimpse of his men shielding him before I black out...

  • The citizens of Cefalù all lead leisurely and carefree lives.
  • One of their favourite pastimes is to walk along the beach after dinner.
  • Especially on evenings as beautiful as this.
  • Young Girl: Can you tell me a story, Grandpa?
  • Old Man: Oh, hmm... Let me tell you a story about mermaids.
  • Young Girl: I've heard that one already!
  • Old Man: Hmm... How about Snow White?
  • Young Girl: I've heard that too. I want to hear the other story!
  • Old Man: Which story?
  • Young Girl: Tell me the story about the poster outside the cinema.
  • Young Girl: There's a man wearing a black suit with a rose pinned to his chest.
  • Old Man: Oh, that one...
  • The old man hesitates and gazes into the sunset.
  • Young Girl: Hurry up, Grandpa!
  • He hesitates but starts the story anyway.
  • Old Man: Once upon a time... There was a brave woman who worked as a reporter...
  • Young Girl: What's a reporter, Grandpa?
  • They continue their walk along the beach, leaving just their footprints behind.

  • Obtained the ending [Sunset of Cefalù]
