I know you are upset, but that just means you need rest even more than ever. Xixian's situation is unclear, and the problem remains unresolved. People's lives are in jeopardy, and Lord Wen cares deeply for them. I'm sure he hopes they will survive this crisis. I'll need your help to handle the floods, Wen Rou. Xixian is not like Beidu. If you require anything in terms of flood or daily necessities, please feel free to ask Chang Feng. It's nothing to do with your upbringing, it's just that you're a lady, and are probably used to different things. You shouldn't force yourself to adapt.

We've experienced many things together, and when it's quiet at night, I think back to our first meeting.
I've always been strict, yet open to embracing new ideas. I like knowledgeable people and I like being frank. But after meeting you, I realize I've been as ignorant as a frog in a well. You are right. Men and women only differ in terms of gender. Women can be highly talented and admired; men can be cowardly and run away from trouble.
I once criticized you for lacking humility, and I would like to apologize for that. Your bravery far surpasses many men I've known. I admire you, and you add to your family's repute.
Sooner or later, I shall surely report everything that happened in Xixian to the authorities in Beidu, and I will make sure everyone knows you played an important part. Lord Wen will be proud of you. It's hard to change the views of society, but this is surely the beginning, and there will be many more like you in the future. I look forward to seeing Yuanning in 10 or 20 years... I've not seen you since returning to Beidu. How are you?
My days are so busy that I often find myself writing in my room at midnight. I spend all day dealing with people who put on a front, and I rather miss the days I spent in Xixian.
Tonight, fallen leaves have covered the courtyard. I guess summer is long gone. I remember the night we shared an umbrella in the rain. Time has passed.
The weather grows cold from summer to autumn, and I am reminded that many travelers appear in Beidu during this season, and they always head out of the city to the maple forests. The maple leaves are red, and it's a lovely time to enjoy the sight, though it is a little spoiled by all the tourists. I know of a maple forest a bit further away that is relatively free from visitors. It's situated on a hill, and we could go horse-riding or hiking there. I'm sure you'd love it.
I hope you'll accompany me there on the next rest day.
