Lore[]
For eons beyond counting, in the vast universe, from dust, life emerged. These beings claimed newly formed worlds, called themselves the first beings of time.
— First Beings of Time
From time to time, Icarus would think of his deceased father and gaze at the cracks in the maze-like city. Daedalus called those cracks the windows of the maze, and faint starlight would shine through at night.
— Distant Star Whispers
Daedalus, the inventor and architect of the white maze-like city, had left many windows. Now, they are increasingly obscured by dense buildings and decorations. "Lost in here, where do out hearts belong?" Icarus lamented.
— Where Our Hearts Belong
On that day, she arrived.
— Becoming Her
Icarus was one of these beings. He was ordinary and simple, with a passion for creation. He never imagined that he, so insignificant, would become a beacon for his people.
— Icarus' Light
Over time, the legend was forgotten. Icarus began to toil for his daily needs, a mere mortal among mortals. Lost in the maze-like city, he wandered its streets from dawn to dusk, from cradle to grave, like countless others before him.
— Hustle and Bustle
The first beings descended form the heavens, shedding their celestial feathers. Their forms evolved, becoming bipedal and walked the earth. Nourished by food from the land, their ethereal bodies grew dense, tethering them to the mortal realm.
— Taking Root
From first beings, they evolved into humans, gifted with nimble limbs and sharp minds. To indulge themselves, they built magnificent maze-like cities of white marble. Legend has it that they hid their most precious treasures within them.
— Grounded Labyrinths
Icarus embarked on a quest to uncover the treasures hidden by the first beings. He prayed all night, with sincere devotion. However, the maze-like city was too vast and complex. Despite knocking on every brick, he was rewarded with little more than a handful of feathers.
— All Night Prayer
"Must we forever be confined to this place?" Icarus cried to the indifferent crowds. His initial questions of curiosity were met with patronizing advice, then ridicule, and ultimately, silence.
— All or Nothing
Year upon year, Icarus toiled, crafting a secret masterpiece from feathers he collected in the city. Yet, fate intervened and the weight of age claimed him before he could reveal his creation.
— Greatness Achieved
Icarus had no choice but to secretly bring his visions to life with his own hands. He found solace in the memory of his father, and his spirit was uplifted by divine grace.
— Unceasing Effort
"Who will carry on my legacy? Though insignificant I may seem, I remember my father, Daedalus, before he constructed the maze... the faces of our earliest ancestors..." So wrote Icarus in his journal.
— Boundless Aspiration
As time passed, he and his unfulfilled wish endured. They awaited someone who truly yearned for the sky and stars beyond the city, someone who truly desired the wind and the freedom of flight.
— Pass Down to the Future
With trembling hands, she activated Icarus' life's work. Her heart raced, for she knew with a single press, the first beings' longing for the sky would be rekindled!
— A Part of the Sky
She emerged from the ruins, soaring higher and higher. A tempest of freedom raged within her as she soared beneath the boundless sky. Gazing upward, excitement stirred in the hearts of the people, and from that day on, they recognized Icarus' name as their beacon.
— Beneath the Sky
She peered and gazed through the cracks of the maze-like city, and found the ruins and unlocked the dusty mechanisms. Upon discovering Icarus' wings, the primordial beings' inherent desire for the sky broke free of the maze once more.
— Faint Starlight
