Overview Gallery

Well versed in theology as well as medicine, and well loved by the people in Verona. The plague many years ago rendered him an orphan, and is also his motivation for practicing medicine. Lord Montague was moved by how the youth pitched in to help with the plague victims after his mother died, and hence Laurence became the adopted son of the bishop.

Laurence is a Romy and Julius Companion.

Appearance[]

Laurence is a tall young man with a well-defined jaw, dark brown eyes and chestnut hair covering his nape and part of his forehead.

He wears a black high-collared sleeveless long coat with golden hems and ropes, blue shoulder pads and his adopted family's coat of harms on his right upper side. The robe is held by a brown fabric with golden highlights on one hem tightly tied. Underneath it, he wears a shirt with a high blue collar and a reddish gem at the center of it. His puffy black sleeves end in black armbands with golden braided ropes. He also wears black pants and black shoes with golden highlights.

You know it's not safe on the streets, and yet you went to check things out? Even if you cover up your family emblem, and think that no one will know who you are, there may be violence, and you might get hurt. Have you thought of your family members, and how worried Bellona and I would be?

I know you're tired of hearing this, but it's always a good thing to be careful. I can't guarantee that I can reach you when you need help.

Also, no matter what good things you hear about Julius, he's still the heir of the Capulets, and I think you should keep a distance from him.

Second Letter

Little Squirrel

You're snoring next to me while I'm writing this letter. Perhaps I should give you a different nicknale besides "little squirrel"? You're sleeping so deeply, and even the sunlight outside the window can't wake you. You know, if you weren't sprawled in such an awkward fashion, I might be moved by the sight of the sunbeams falling upon your face. This fuzzy sunlight makes me think of our childhood.

During one of your visits to the church, you bugged me to put down my books and go play kiddy games with you. Normally I'd have no interest in those games, but somehow, I felt so relaxed and happy with you. Silly girl, you were so tired and yet you insisted on playing some more. Your movements slowed down as you played with the doll, and you even yawned. So I just stayed by your side, and quietly memorized my medical books while waiting for the sun to rise. I was so exhausted, but when I saw the rising sun light up that doll-like face of yours, all of my exhaustion vanished.

Alright, it's getting late. I must wake you up. I guess it's been really hard for you to accept the things that have happened lately, but I hope you'll feel better when you read this letter.

You've been rather moody lately. And the servant tells me that you keep looking out the window all day. It worries her, and it pains me.

Ever since that incident, you've hardly smiled, and I know that your heart lies in Verona, and that you're worried about the people there and your father. I know all of your worries and troubles. I'm sorry that when Lord Montague decided to send you out of the city, I avoided your pleading eyes. Of course I knew what you wanted. You wanted to stay as a member of the Montague family, or should I say, as a part of Verona. And I know that you're brave and unafraid of trouble, and you're willing to face the darkness for the sake of your beliefs.

But, dear Romy, in my heart, your safety is even more important than the fate of Verona. I believe that Lord Montague feels the same way. And so, we prepared a secret and comfortable sanctuary for you. Please believe that this is for the best.

Romy, please stay in the sanctuary for now. Wait for our victory, and then I'll escort you back to Verona. And if you're willing, I would like to bring you along with me through the streets and alleyways, to help the people of Verona. I would love to dedicate my services to this beloved city, with you beside me.
