Letters[]

First Letter

My new friend

I don't think I've ever written a letter before. And you're the very first person I'm writing to! I pray to Azurnon for your success every day.

I grew up in the Sacred Hall, and I'm used to spending time alone. But your arrival is like a pebble tossed into the surface of still water. Ripples are spreading within my heart. Now I know that there are interesting vendors on the streets of Atlan, and competing food peddlers, as well as many other fascinating things I've never heard of before. Your descriptions are so full of life, they're not just frivolities surrounding the festival. I truly envy you, Ondine.

The day of the festival is drawing near. Please promise me that you'll be with me on that day, Ondine. I want to see the enthusiasm in your eyes.

I shall continue praying fervently here. I'm sure Azurnon will bless you.

Azurnon's Envoy

Second Letter

Ondine

I haven't seen you since you left in a hurry days ago. Is everything all right? You mentioned you were undergoing training for the festival. I'm really glad to welcome you as a part of it all. I'm sure a festival with you included will be far more unforgettable than all the festivals so far.

I regret that you had to leave when Rita arrived that day, and we didn't talk about the conch shells. The number of conch shells has been increasing in the Sacred Hall, and I may be able to send them to Cape Covenant soon. When the time comes, I will notify Nydia. And if your training is going well, you could take a break and come with me to Cape Covenant.

It's hard to convey things clearly on such a small piece of paper, but I assure you that I'm willing to share all that I know, as long as you're willing to listen.

Linore

Third Letter

Dear Ondine

Please allow me the liberty of addressing you fondly. My heart has been calling out to you for days—it is pounding madly, hoping to be close to you. I spend much of my time in the Sacred Hall in solitude. But you have broken this solitude, and awakened my heart with news from the world outside. Your loyalty toward Marin has triggered a longing in my heart. As Azurnon's envoy, I am bound by duty. So too is my brother, as he takes my father's place. Your passion for Marin, and your determination to do whatever it takes for her, have made me realize that family ties are just as important as our duties.

Marin is fortunate to have you as her sister. I am fortunate as well, to have an older brother who loves me. And I am fortunate to know you, the person who has brought me the light of the sun. I thank Azurnon for allowing us to meet. I regard you as family, and so, please allow me to call you my sister, Ondine.

Yours, Linore
