Transcript[]

I look up at the night sky and I feel like I can see a group of Oasis Fairies gracefully dancing under the moon.

You: The music of the Beni is even more moving than I expected. Compared to that poetic music, my dance seems a bit flawed..

As I'm thinking about this, I subconsciously look down at my dance costume.

You: These clothes look nice, but I don't think they have enough of that ''Oasis Fairy'' feel..

An idea flashes through my head my and I pull out the Magic Lamp to summon Light.

Light: Oh, you still remember me. I thought you were going to stay at the Palace forever.

You:Don't worry. I haven't forgotten about the gemstone. But right now, I want to help Kahir out. After all, he;s helped me so many times.

Light: I am the one who saved your life. Don't you think you should pay me back? Also, that Magician is in the Palace. You need to stay away from him, yet you still go the Palace every day for fun?

You: If he's in the Palace, doesn't that mean that the gemstone is somehow connected to it?

I can enter and leave the Palace as I please, so I have more opportunities to collect information.

Light: You seem focused on your obligations so I guess it's fine. Alright then, you brought me out here. What can I do for you?

You: I want to perform a special dance at the Palace banquet, but I feel that my costume is too plain. Light, can you use your magic to turn this into an Oasis Fairy feather dress?

Light: Change clothes? Oh that's nothing. But, I've never heard of an oasis Firy. Please describe to me this feather dress.

You: Oasis Fairies are immortals who take care of the water sources in the desert. Their feather dresses are green..

Light: Got it. That's easy. Give me your hand.

You: I can always rely on you. Light. You really are my hero!

He seems so confident that I stretch out my hands in anticipation.

Then I feel something damp and slimy.. It doesn't feel like clothing at all..

You: What? A frog? aaah! It jumped on my head!

After a bit of a ruckus, Light his fingers and the sticky frog finally disappears.

You:Light! You want me to hold a frog while I dance for the Queen? I'd be the laughing stock of the Palace!

Light: Tsk, it seems there is a problem with my magic. But it did fulfill your wish. Didn't you say it was green? Also, if you find a frog in the desert, then you must be close to a water source. I think these Oasis Fairies are really just frogs.

You: What nonsense are you talking about? You're strpping away all the romance of the Oasis Fairies!

Light:Quiet. Let me try again.

You: Stop! Don't make anything weird okay? I'm taking back what I said before. Your magic isn't reliable. I should have just come up with my own plan!

Light: Ok then, do it yourself. Don't think I can't see it. So nervous about a dress. You're just trying to impress the Prince!

What are you talking about? Kahir and I are just..

Light doesn't wait for me to finish. He pops back into the Magic Lamp. I wipe the rest of the slime off myself and leave in a huff.

After running around visiting stalls of all sizes, I finally find some beautiful fabric that I can afford. It looks like I'll have to make the dress myself. I once had to make my own costume for a Christmas stage play in elementary school. I should be able to do this..

For the next few days, I work in the werehouse during the day, and sew at night. Dark circles from under my eyes, but I finally finish the fairy dress the night before the banquet.

You: I did it. I never thought that I'd have any talent for making and designing clothes!

Before I go out, however, I take a look at the Magic Lamp on the table.

You: (I haven't spoken to Light for several days..)

a-apologize to light

b-hurry to the Palace

A - I give the Magic Lamp a rub.

Light: Ugh, so annoying..Why are you bringing me out so early in the morning?

You:Light, I'm sorry. You were trying to help, but I was so anxious that I said some things I shouldn't have.. Can you forgive me?

Light: Hmph, I don't feel like arguing with you. A Genie of the Lamp with such dignity must show magnanimity when dealing with mortals, right?

You: Ok, let's make up. Look, I made this fairy dress myself. Do you like it?

I lift the beautiful skirt and find that Light is blushing.

Light: I can't help noticing the dark circles under your eyes. What does it matter how nice the dress looks? Let me help you out!

Light taps me on my forehead, and I suddenly feel like I have much more energy.

You: Huh? Why do I smell so good..

Light: I've imbuded you with magical energy so that you'll be radiant and stunning at the banquet.

You: Thank you Light! You're amazing!

Light: You should get going! I'm going to get some more sleep.

The cheerful music blends together beautifully and the Palace couldn't be more lively. Kahir has set up a spot for me to sit. Before I go on,  I sample the delicious delicacies and listen to the Ministers whisper.

Minister A: I hear that the Governor of the Western Provinces didn't show up? There's some sandstorm that I think must be the trick of the Prime Minister.

Minister B: The decree to remediate refugees was withdrawn. So the Prime Minister was revenging. But I hear that His Highness is determined to protect the Royal Alchemy Workshop and has brought it back.

Minister A: The Prime Minister is not going to give up. I think..

Minister B: Sh..The Queen is here.

The room suddenly falls silent and a tall, a beautiful woman accompanies Kahir into the hall.

You:(Who knew the Queen was so beautiful? It's clear where Kahir gets his good looks)

Queen: His MAJESTY THE kING IS STILL SICK IN BED AND CAN'T attend the banquet. We are sorry about this. And unfortunately, the Governor of the Western Provinces has to miss this grand occasion due to a massive sandstorm..

Kahir: Mother, the Governor may not be able to come, but I've prepared a gift from the Western Provinces for you. I think you will like it.

Kahir winks at me from far away. I suppose it's time for me to take the stage.

The curtains around the banquet hall all drop and the lights go out. The giant Brni is carried to the center of the hall and Kahir sits next to it. Gently, he starts to play. As the moonlight flows in from the window, I start dancing to the sound of the Beni.

Minister A: That's an instrument from the Western Provinces, right? I had no idea the Prince had such skill!

Minister B: What a special dance. I've never seen anything like it..

After the performance ends, the banquet hall remains silent as though the people are still immersed in a summer night's dream. It isn't until Kahir stands up to address the court that the guests erupt in applause

Kahir: Gina, you look so beautiful today. I felt like I was looking at a legendary Oasis Fairy. That was the most beautiful dance I've ever seen.

I can feel my cheeks flush under kahir's warm gaze.

You: You played really well to. It didn't sound like you only just resumed practicing.

At this moment, the Queen stands up from her central seat and beckons for me and Kahir to go to her.

Queen: That was such an incredible performance. It reminded me of peaceful summer nights in the Western Provinces. Kahir, this gift is such a pleasant surprise.

Kahir: Mother, it was actually all Gina's idea. Without her, I'd still be sitting there trying to figure out how to bring the Governor here.

The Queen's gaze turns towards me and I suddenly start feel nervous.

Queen:So you're the one who thought of this, I did wonder how Kahir came up whit such a romantic idea. Gina, what a lovely name. But, you don't look familiar to me. You're not a palace dancer, are you?

You:I am Sinbad's.. err, an employee of Master Sinbad.

Queen: Don;t be afraid. Sinbad is the King's close friend and You are a friend of Kahir's. We enthusiastically welcome you here. I'm curious, though, what made you think of turning the story of the Oasis Fairy into a dance?

You: Kahir told me about a nursery rhyme and I was drawn to the legend of the Oasis Fairy. That's what inspired me.

You: (Oh no! I got so comfortable that I forgot to call Kahir, ''His Highness' in front of the Queen..)

The Queen doesn't seem bothered by this, however. She lowers her eyelids, as if lost in a distant memory.

Queen: In fact, that nursery rhyme doesn't tell the whole story. Legend has it that an adventurer accidentally wandered into a mysterious oasis and was drawn by the beauty of an enchanting fairy. Feeling mischievous, he hid her feather dress while she was beathing. Without the dress, the fairy couldn't fly back to the divine realm, so she remained at the oasis. Eventually she was touched by the adventurer's earnestness, went back to the city with him, and became his wife.

You:This story is so..

a-romantic

b-sad

A - It's so romantic and it has such a happy endind. Amazing!

Queen: of course, all young girls love romantic tales.

The Queen looks at me with a smile, but I can see a hint of sorrow in her gentle eyes.

To congratulate my performance, the Queen presents me with a fine jawelry box. After the banquet ends, Kahir personally escorts me to the palace gate. Seeing his hesitation. I'm reminded of how reluctant I felt when he left Sinbad's house.
