- I work for Sinbad. I have to run back and forth between the shop and the warehouse every day. My days are busy, but fulfilling.
- Shops are being built outside the North Gate. There is no news of the missing refugees. The storm has subsided.
- On the surface, at least.
- Sinbad organizes a banquet and invites various navigators and adventurers from different places.
- As the number of guests is high, the maids can't cope on their own, so I stay in the house to help out.
- After a busy morning, I finally have some time to bring food back to my room. However, I find out that the cat that's accompanied me every day since it came through my window is missing.
- You: Where did the little rascal go?
- You: Did he go into the banquet hall? I have to find him quickly.
- Sinbad: Gina, what are you looking for?
- You: My cat's missing. The one that's been living in my room the past few days.
- Sinbad: He's probably just looking for food somewhere. I'm sure he'll return on his own later.
- Sinbad: The guests are arriving, so please get ready.
- In my panic to find my cat, I forgot to bring the waitress uniform I was supposed to wear for the banquet.
- Although I'm worried about the cat, I have work to do now.
- As soon as I change into my uniform, the housekeeper informs me that the guests are at the door and wants me to receive them.
- ???: Is this Sinbad's house?
- You: Yes, Sir. How may I help you?
- ???: I heard there's a special event going on, so I came.
- This guest's clothing and temperament was different from Sinbad's other friends.
- You: Do you have an invitation?
- Voyager B: You must be new. Master Sinbad's banquets always welcome anyone who loves adventure. There's no need for an invitation.
- Voyager A: I'm guessing you're a foreigner due to your unique clothing?
- ???: Yes, I arrived this morning on a freighter.
- Voyager B: What is that unusual stick in your hand?
- Magician: This is my wand. I'm a Magician.
- You: (Magician?! Are there magicians in this world?)
- Voyager A: Did I hear you right? Magic? The Full Moon Kingdom advocates science, and no one believes these ridiculous things anymore.
- Voyager A: If you want to make a living in the capital, I suggest you become a Witch Doctor and chase away poisons and other diseases.
- Voyager B: Or you could be an Astrologer. The Royal Palace has recently put up a notice recruiting astrologers.
- Voyager B: But these are just the tricks of a desperate magician. Why don't you sail with us? That's real pleasure!
- Magician: I'm not interested in such crude business.
- Magician: The power of magic can control nature. You should be awed by it.
- Voyager A: You're so ungrateful! We're nice enough to invite you on our adventures, but you kick us away like common dogs!
- Voyager B: You came to the wrong place today. Master Sinbad does not welcome the pretentious and conceited!
- You: The magician's eyes turn dark, and he raises his wand.
- You: If he's really a magician, this could go really wrong?
- Defuse the situation
- Sinbad made a great effort to prepare this banquet. I can't let them ruin it. I have to defuse the situation!
- I rush forward and stand between the magician and the two navigators.
- You: The banquet is about to start! Everyone should enter so the delicious food does not go cold.
- Voyager B: Child, this arrogant magician's identity is unknown. You can't let him in!
- You: Whether you're a navigator or a magician, you are an adventurer that explores the unknown world.
- You: Master Sinbad welcomes anyone who loves adventure. You taught me that.
- The navigator is speechless. His eyes blink for a while, but he remains silent.
- Voyager B: Fine, fine! I'm a rough man and I don't take care with what I say. Don't take it to heart.
- You: Master Sinbad certainly hopes everyone has fun today. Including you, Mr. Magician.
- The magician hesitates for a moment, but lowers his wand and nods at me.
- Magician: I've heard Sinbad is openminded and friendly, and likes meeting strangers from all walks of life.
- Magician: So I'll let it pass.
- Sinbad: Hahaha! Don't get angry over such a small matter, my guests!
- Sinbad: Hurry and try the delicacies I specially prepared today!
- Sinbad: I've found many new dishes recently. Your palate will be quite intrigued!
- Just watch
- You: (I wonder what magic he will perform? Will he turn a human into a lamb, like in the stories?)
- I stand nearby, indulging my fantasy, when someone suddenly cries out.
- Voyager B: Ah! My gold!
- A bag of gold coins crashes on the floor, scattering in every direction.
- The navigator is frantic. He doesn't know where to go first. He gets so angry, and stamps his foot.
- Voyager B: I secured that money bag myself. How could it break so easily? Was this your doing?!
- Magician: What does this have to do with me?
- Magician: I'm here to attend the banquet, not to argue with you.
- Voyager B: You!
- I stare at the magician, who looks calm and composed, the opposite of the furious navigator.
- You: (Is this really not his doing? I'm not so sure.)
- The guests continue arguing. My head hurts from thinking about how to mediate, but then booming laughter comes from the doorway.
- Sinbad: Hahaha! Even the coins are anxious about your tardiness, my friends!
- Sinbad: I'll have someone pick up all your gold for you, don't worry.
- Sinbad: This is a rare banquet, so don't get angry over such a small matter, my guests! Hurry and try the delicacies I specially prepared today!
- Sinbad: I've found many new dishes recently. Your palate will be quite intrigued!
- Sinbad: Hahaha! Welcome to my humble abode! I heartily enjoy getting together with adventurers for dinner!
- Sinbad: Though at my age I rarely sail anymore, reminiscing about strange encounters during my early years still thrills me!
- Voyager A: Stop joking, Master Sinbad!
- Voyager A: You're living a life everyone envies! Especially compared to sailors who wander and gamble their lives all year round.
- Sinbad: My dear friends, from the bottom of my heart, nothing thrills me as much as a sea voyage!
- Sinbad: The roaring of waves and the songs of sea birds make the best music in the world. Nothing else compares!
- Voyager B: I'm not as carefree as you are! Sailing would be meaningless to me if I couldn't seek treasure.
- Voyager B: Master Sinbad, you mentioned earlier you wanted to show us some treasures you've found? I can't wait!
- Sinbad opens a treasure box and places all of its contents on a long table.
- The guests gather around, looking at each item curiously.
- Voyager A: Master Sinbad, these are very unique treasures. They're quite a sight!
- Voyager B: I envy your luck! We've not seen such treasure in a long time!
- Having worked at Sinbad's house for half a month, I am used to seeing these treasures. The navigators' envious expressions are far more interesting to me.
- You: (Eh? The magician isn't excited by the treasures.)
- You: (Are magicians not interested in gold, silver, or jewelry?
- The magician paces in front of the long table and looks coldly at the shiny treasures.
- He suddenly stops in front of a small silver trinket with a look of surprise on his face.
- Magician: Mr. Sinbad, where did you get this?
- Sinbad: Brother, you have taste!
- Sinbad: Although this silver trinket doesn't stand out at first glance, it was most likely carved by the court craftsmen of the previous dynasty!
- The guests begin murmuring. All of them want to see the silver trinket.
- Sinbad: Gina, show the silver trinket to everyone.
- When I stand in front of the magician, his gaze locks on the piece of treasure.
- You: (This silver trinket has oxidized so much. It must be really old. What's so special about it?)
- Voyager A: A silver trinket from the previous dynasty?! Unbelievable!
- Voyager A: They say The Forty Thieves ransacked the former Royal Palace and hid all its treasures in a secret cave...
- Voyager A: Master Sinbad, did you find the cave where the Forty Thieves hid their treasures?
- Voyager B: Is it full of gold, silver, and gems, piled up like sand dunes? Is it full of countless exotic treasures?
- Voyager B: Why would you keep such a find a secret? You'd never enjoy all of these treasures in many lifetimes, let alone one. Why didn't you share this find?
- Sinbad: You misunderstand, my friend. I didn't discover any caves. A foreign merchant sold me this trinket for an arm and a leg.
- Sinbad: I know as much as you do about the legendary Forty Thieves and their treasures.
- Sinbad: I do, however, know a lot about my early sea voyages. That will be far more interesting than stories about those thieves!
- You: (Sinbad is telling his stories again. I've heard them so many times, I know them by heart.)
- When the banquet ends, the guests leave and I go back to my room.
- You: There you are, kitty. I've been looking all over for you.
- You: Wait, where are you going now?
- You: (Sigh, he runs too fast! He's always gone in a second! Is he stealing food again?)
- The banquet hall is empty. I suddenly hear footsteps in the quiet and empty hall.
- Magician: This man does not deserve this treasure. I'll give it the praise it truly deserves.
- You: (That's Sinbad's silver trinket in the thief's hands!)
- The magician leaves the banquet hall hurriedly and exits by the side entrance.
- You: (If I scream, I'm afraid I'll be killed before the servants arrive to help.)
- You: (I won't act rashly. I'll observe him in secret, and find the opportunity to get the silver trinket back.)
