  • A familiar white light washes over us. When Sinbad and I open our eyes, we see we are back on to the ship.
  • We rush to the crew's cabin and, to our relief, we find everyone on their beds.
  • You: What a scary day! Thanks for your help in the dark, Light.
  • Light: When I chased that thing out, I thought I'd finally have an interesting fight.
  • Light: I didn't think it would lose its powers after it left the cave. How boring!
  • You: It sounds like... you're a little disappointed?
  • Light: Hey I just rescued you, don't look at me like that. And it was just a thought.
  • Light: But are you really going to return the conch? The Sea Explorer has done no small amount of evil.
  • Light: If I hadn't been there, you would have become another ghost in his pool.
  • You: Light, I trust Sinbad.
  • You: Sinbad also vowed to go after the Sea Explorer if he doesn't keep his promise.
  • Light: So you have a plan. That's good to hear.
  • Light: I'll lend a hand if you can't find him.
  • You: With you and Sinbad with me, I'm convinced this is the right choice!
  • Light: You should go to bed. Don't you have to get up early tomorrow?
  • You: That's right. Good night, Light!

  • I wake up to a loud knock on my door. It's barely dawn...
  • Sinbad: Wake up Gina! Time's a-wasting.
  • You: I'm up, I'm up. Just let me put on some clothes.

  • The island is pleasantly warm in the morning. Milky white waves roll onto the beach, leaving a few lovely shells behind.
  • Walking along the beach, Sinbad and I quickly arrive at the ruins.
  • The black fog of the Sea Explorer's body is already there waiting for us.
  • Sea Explorer: Captain Sinbad, beautiful lady — you're here!
  • You: Oh, you can call me Gina. Is the alcove on the monolith open?
  • Sea Explorer: The alcove opened when the first rays of light hit the monolith.
  • Sea Explorer: It is just ahead, follow me.
  • Sinbad: Is this the magical monolith? Doesn't look very special.
  • Sea Explorer: A few cracks have appeared, perhaps because the conch was removed.
  • Sea Explorer: When I first removed the conch, the engraving on it was still very clear.
  • Sea Explorer: The ancient text warned me not to touch the conch, but I...
  • The black fog wraps around the monolith and puffs out a steady stream of sighs.
  • Sinbad puts his hand on the monolith and dusts off some sand.
  • Sinbad: You can't change what happened, no matter how much you regret it.
  • Sinbad: You made your choice, and you have to live with the consequences.
  • Sinbad: You can only make amends and look to the future.
  • Sea Explorer: Captain Sinbad...
  • Sinbad: It's time to return this to its rightful place.
  • Sinbad: Gina, this is a gift you bought for me at the bazaar, and I meant to keep it.
  • Sinbad: I never thought I would have to leave it on this island.
  • You: When I bought it at the bazaar, I didn't expect any of this to happen...
  • You: When we return to the Full Moon Kingdom, I'll buy you another gift, Sinbad!
  • Sinbad: Hahahaha, I'd like that!
  • Sinbad: Here, I want you to put the conch back into the monolith.
  • You: Me? Why?
  • Sinbad: If you hadn't brought the conch on board, we wouldn't have found this island...
  • Sinbad: And we would never have had these experiences.
  • Sinbad: You've given me a wonderful adventure, Gina. I couldn't ask for a better gift!
  • You: (A gift? Has Sinbad forgotten what happened in the cave last night?)
  • You: (I can never tell if Sinbad loves adventure or is just a blockhead...)
  • Sinbad: Ahoy there, you're staring into space again.
  • At Sinbad's urging, I solemnly take the conch from his hand.
  • It feels heavier somehow...
  • Perhaps after all that has happened, it weighs differently on my heart.
  • You: Alright, I'm going to put the conch back in the alcove!
  • Sinbad: Go ahead, Gina.
  • I gently push the black conch into the alcove.
  • The mottled stone monolith shakes with a comforting rumble, like it knows it is whole again. A glimmer of light begins to trace the lines of ancient writing around its middle.
  • The wind blows through the conch, bringing its melodious call to every corner of the island.
  • Sea Explorer: This sound... I finally hear it again...
  • Sea Explorer: Indeed, only the conch can transform the curse...
  • Sea Explorer: I was truly... such a fool...
  • The sea explorer floats before the monolith. He seems to be reading the glowing words.
  • The mellow sound of the conch appears to penetrate his body of thick black fog.
  • You: You... you're disappearing!
  • Sea Explorer: Don't worry, Miss Gina. It means that the curse is being lifted.
  • Sea Explorer: When this form vanishes, it'll be time for me to return to my own body.
  • Sinbad: What do you mean?
  • Sea Explorer: Captain Sinbad...
  • Sea Explorer: The writing on the tablet tells me the magician tribe was sacrificed to suppress the power of the curse.
  • Sea Explorer: They turned themselves into this black conch using the power of the pure sea breeze and sun...
  • Sea Explorer: So the purifying voice would never stop resounding over this island.
  • Sinbad: Such a tragic story...
  • Sea Explorer: They sacrificed themselves so the curse wouldn't claim later generations who come to this island.
  • Sea Explorer: I not only hurt my crewmates, I wasted the noble sacrifice of the tribe.
  • Sea Explorer: I...
  • The voice emerging from the black fog is one of incomparable remorse. Before he can finish, he is drowned out by the sounds of the conch.
  • Sinbad and I stand quietly in front of the monolith for a long time.

  • Back on the ship, everyone has come to their senses and is preparing a search party for Sinbad and me.
  • Several sacks of gold coins have appeared on the deck, including Sinbad's jeweled pipe and money bag.
  • At breakfast in the galley, Sinbad makes up a story about what happened, speaking so dramatically that no one asks any questions.
  • The journey back is calm and quiet. We finally reach the Full Moon Kingdom on a clear morning.

  • Young Civilians: Master Sinbad, you're back!
  • Sinbad: Anything happen while I was gone?
  • Young Civilians: After so many years as your caretaker, you should know there's no problem I can't handle.
  • Young Civilians: Stop worrying! I even watered your plants!
  • Sinbad: Haha, that's good!
  • Young Civilians: There's one thing though... A skinny young man has been coming here for two days in a row, asking if you have returned.
  • Young Civilians: He said he needs to repay a debt, Master Sinbad, and begged to help me in the mansion.
  • You: Sinbad... could it be...
  • Sinbad: Where is he now?
  • Young Civilians: There was nothing to do in the mansion, so I sent him away.
  • Young Civilians: If I had known you were coming back today, I would have asked him to wait.
  • Young Civilians: Should I ask around to find out where he lives?
  • Sinbad: No, I'm sure he'll come back tomorrow.
  • You: Yes, he will come without a doubt...
