I suppose ensuring that proper etiquette is observed is my way of keeping the past alive, with all its artful practices and meaningful traditions. I feel as though I need to uphold the ancient ways of House Magicae so that my family will live on, if only in memory, and our house's dignity will not be lost...
Thank you, Eleanor. You probably knew this all along, and that's why you've always been so patient with me.
I used to think you needed my care, so I turned all my regrets about Arabella into concern for you. But now I realize that I was the one who needed you. Watching you step into your role as Queen day by day, accompanying you on your secret travels, waiting for you to return in the castle, listening to the ministers and maids talk about you... all these experiences had left me feeling both happy and sad.
