Overview Gallery

Priscilla is the only daughter of a bourgeois family. She is extremely cynical, and despises the "Angel in the House" dogma. Not knowing how to deal with her rebellious nature, they sent here to Madam Petit's to be schooled in social graces. She loves goth culture and black magic, and seems to have joined some kind of secret society.

Priscilla is a Shadows of London Companion.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Priscilla is a young lady of average height, with pale skin, blue eyes and long light blonde hair with the lower half styled into Victorian curls. She also has a mole under the corner of her left eye. Her appearance is reminiscent of the gothic lolita style, with her makeup consisting of smokey maroon eyeshadow, and deep maroon lipstick.

Her outfit consists of a black crop jacket with puffy sleeves adorned with white ribbons, a white lace-black choker, and a long deep multi-layer maroon dress decorated with black ribbons and criss-cross stitching patterns on both sides of the skirt. She wears a white-lace maroon bonnet, with a few small maroon ribbons and a black rose on the top. She wears mismatching stockings and shoes, with a black sock and white platform heel on one leg, and vice versa on the other. Her outfit is topped off with a bat-shaped bag, decorated with similar criss-cross stitching patterns down the middle.

Lantern Quotes[]

When Interacting
"Did you think I learned Latin and sewing for the sake of becoming a decent "Angel in the House"?"
"The sphynx represents the angel, and the devil rules below. All around us are fate's... Don't you understand what I'm saying? What a bummer."
"The foolish are always deceived by appearances. They think I dislike Madam Petit when in fact, I respect her very much."
Upon Receiving a Preferred Gift*
"This... How did you find it? Looks like you've put a lot of thought into it. I suppose I can partner with you for the next Latin lesson."
"I'm surprised you've given me something I actually like. I guess I can agree to one request of yours."
Upon Receiving a Non-Preferred Gift*
"Why are you giving me a gift out of the blue? Are you trying to ask me to help you out for the sewing test?"
"You're weird. You must know that I won't be taken in by this. Even if it's a gift, it must be something I like!"
After Using All Interactions Attempts
"Why do curfews even exist? I have to go, I'll see you at the next etiquette lesson."

*If you give gifts in batches and the total is 20 affection points or more, even if they are 1-star gifts and the traits do not match, the Companions will still show that they liked the gifts and say a quote of appreciation.

Themed Clothing Lore[]

Priscilla has a clothing set made in her image: Our Era Together. The following table is a list of lore descriptions associated with each clothing item:

Item Description

Not a Complaint
Tell me, dear friend, how many more times will I be pulled into your life's story?

Days Together
I've grown accustomed to being alone, Caroline, and I don't expect others to understand me. However, it's quite nice when someone does understand you.

You Should Know
Don't ask me what I want for my birthday, and thank you, I already have a copy of The Mysterious of Udolpho.

Our Era Together
I've always found many things around us quite ridiculous, such as tight corsets, etiquette classes, and the notion of having to be the angel in the house. But this is our era, which means we have the opportunity to change it, don't we?

Bedtime Chat
Mr. Savile? Dr. Grey? Mr. Lindvall? Playing dumb won't get you anywhere. I happen to know quite a few other secrets of yours as well.

An Owed Apology
In this matter of the Scarlet Rose Club, I admit that I may have caused you unnecessary risk. Wait a moment, what does that subtle smile of yours mean? What are you hiding from me?

Letters[]

First Letter

Miss Rayes

I hope all is well when you open this letter. Our first meeting wasn't very pleasant, but I am glad to have a new friend in etiquette class.

I hear you are from Hampshire. London must feel alien to you, right? Don't worry, I'd be happy to show you around the dity (if your aunt... I mean, Madam Petit allows it, of course). That's because helpfulness is an essential quality of a lady.

If Madam Petit doesn't mind you hanging out with me, write back to me with where you'd like to go. We can set off from the nearby train station, just tell me when.

Priscilla Barnet

Second Letter

Kind-hearted Caroline

We may be getting closer but don't think that's enough repayment for my help in the last sewing lesson! I'm still waiting for a strange doll you promised!

Are you cross I stood you up earlier? It's not my fault, alright? When my mother found out Madam Petit's niece was attending etiquette class, she insisted that I be friends with you and even made sure I write you letters. I hid in the garden to take a nap that afternoon. You didn't really... wait at the train station for me, did you?

Alright, alright, I admit I'm in the wrong... but don't break your own promise because of this! You don't want me to be sad the next etiquette class, right?

With remorse, Priscilla

Third Letter

My gracious friend

Caroline, you are very kind. Do you treat everyone around you like this? Or am I special? I don't understand...

Never mind, I wanted to write to you about something else. During our conversation the other day, you mentioned the word "alien". You know, I'm an "alien" to everyone else here, because my clothes and my behavior aren't what's considered proper for a lady. My parents sent me to etiquette class, made sure I memorized all the rules of conduct, and hoped I'd become an obedient sheep like the rest of these idiots. When they nag a lot, I restrain myself a little, but I'll never change the way I am.

I think you're an "alien" too. You're not like all the other girls I've seen before. You don't point at my clothes, and you don't accuse me of not fitting in at tea parties. After getting to know you, I realize that my previous acts of rebellion have been rather childish. You are right, I shouldn't believe others so easily, and I should be responsible for my own life.

Caroline, I am very happy to have a fellow "alien" like you as a friend.

Your "alien" friend

Night Rose's Chorus Event

To a dear friend

I can't believe you did something like this, Caroline! Those roses turned my parlor into a sea of red. My parents thought it was the work of some obsessed suitor. Oh, never mind their attitude. I understand your sentiment, and that's enough.

Do you know why I like you? Because you're genuine. Our personalities cannot be any more different. I find you overly cautious, overthinking things, and always considerate of others, which makes you seem reserved. At first, I never thought a quick-tempered person like me would become friends with someone like you. But you're not pretentious, Caroline. Your tact comes from a kind-hearted desire not to hurt others, and your caution is the result of thoughtful deliberation. Although you're reluctant to judge others, everything you say is fair. When faced with injustice, you have the courage to speak out. In short, beneath your gentle and polite demeanor lies something many lack today: a strong and steady soul.

You wouldn't take these words as mere social compliments, would you? I'm being sincere, Caroline. I admire your spirit, but this also means that if we ever have disagreements, neither of us will easily back down. Perhaps we will argue and lose our tempers but we will also discuss and try to understand each other after. Our friendship is a bond that transcends differences, a connection of kindred spirits.

Time will bear witness to our friendship.

Priscilla

Trivia[]

  • Unlike the other Companion-themed sets that are obtainable via the Stylish Rewards event, Priscilla's themed set, Our Era Together, is the only one that was obtainable only through the October 2023 rendition of the Time Collector event.
  • According to the author of Shadows of London Part 2:
    • Despite looking "much younger", Priscilla is the same age as Caroline (18 years ago) during the events of the main story.
    • Priscilla was originally planned to have a route of her own in the main story, centered on societal issues such as class conflict, the Second Industrial Revolution, and the women’s rights and liberation movement. However, this was eventually revised due to the limited number of stages planned for the entire book.
