Themed Clothing Lore[]

Scheherazade has a clothing set made in her image: Eight Moons. The following table is a list of lore descriptions associated with each clothing item:

Item Description

Moonstone
On a windless night, sand grains retain the lingering warmth of the scorching sun. A girl walking in the desert suddenly stops, she looks up at the sky, and a full moon reflects in her eyes.

The Moon's Secret
The moon asks the girl if she's willing to exchange a secret with her. The girl nods and sits cross-legged on the ground.

Eight Moons
The moon reveals that there are eight moons in the world. These eight moons take turns appearing in the night sky, which is why people sometimes see a crescent moon, sometimes a waning moon, and sometimes a full moon. If the same moon were to appear every day, it would be terribly exhausting.

Exchange of Secrets
With a playful wink, the moon turns to the maiden and says, "Alright, now it's your turn to share your secret. I'm all ears."

Three of Me
The girl responds, "There are three of me in the world. I appear in turns, which is why people sometimes see my obedient and compliant side, and sometimes they see my courageous and free-spirited side."

The Moon's Question
The moon scratches its head, sending a cascade of moonlight down as it lifts its hand. "Three of you... so what about the last one?"

Journey with the Moon
The girl replies, "And there's also the present me, the one I lost. A year ago, I said goodbye to my obedient and compliant self, determined to reclaim my courageous and free-spirited self. But that part of me is lost. If you ever see her, please let me know." The moon responds, "Then I shall illuminate your path and accompany you."

Letters[]

First Letter

Gina

I can only imagine your surprise upon reveiving my letter.

I heard from Kahir that he's met an interesting friend in town. She's clever, a little stubborn, but has a strong sense of justice. She's someone he can't stop talking about, and I've always been curious about her.

Upon meeting you, I just knew that you were the girl he was talking about. As the heir to the throne, Kahir's relationships are often muddled with self-interest, and I am gladto know he has a true friend like you.

I hear you're part of Sinbad's family. Sinbad is the King's old friend. Why don't you come along when he visits us ?

Scheherazade

Second Letter

Gina

Since I've met you, I find myself thinking about life in my hometown. Back then, I was just like you, energetic and frank, and full of strange ideas. But ever since I came to the palace, homesickness has made me quiet and melancholy. I am now used to the palace life and I love the King dearly, but I am still filled with regret.

Thanks to you, I feel Youthful again. Chatting with you is like speaking with a dear old friend, and is always pleasant. Kahir recently bought a tambourine from the marketplace. It's a traditional instrument from the Western Provinces. If you'd like, we could play it together. I could also teach you a few folk songs from my hometown, and I'd love to hear your beautiful voice.

Scheherazade

Third Letter

Dear Gina

It's a shame that someone with your wit and courage is stuck managing a warehouse. Kahir has proposed to the executive cabinet that we should have a more lenient system, to allow brilliant commoners to help govern the Kingdom. If you're willing, I'd love to recommend you for a position. You could put your talents to use, and be a great role model to girls in the Kingdom! Let them know that they don't have to settle for a life of cooking and gardening.

I'm also being selfish with this request, for this would mean that I could see you more often. I'd love to have a girl like you as a daughter.

Perhaps it won't be long till Kahir makes this dream a reality. What do you say?

Trivia[]

  • Scheherazade was likely based on the protagonist, as well as the narrator of the One Thousand and One Nights folk tale collection of the same name.
    • In the story, the Sultan, after having been cheated on, decided to marry a new bride every day and execute her before she could be dishonoured. However, Scheherazade, having memorised a thousand stories, was able to delay her execution by telling a story to the Sultan, and stopping at a cliffhanger at dawn, for a thousand nights.
    • On the 1,001th night, she had run out of stories to tell, but fortunately, the king had fallen in love with her over the course of the previous nights, and decided to spare her permanently as a result.
