Tonight, I went on a blind date.
The other person, perhaps wanting me to try something unique, took me to a restaurant with great ambience which served unconventional dishes. The servers were courteous as they explained that all the ingredients were prepared on-site to ensure the dishes' freshness, which might result in a slightly longer wait time.
When it comes to savoring delicious cuisine, what's a little extra wait, right? With this thought in mind, I sipped on champagne and waited patiently.
Half an hour later, the servers finally brought the appetizers. A few rose petals accompanied by a fresh strawberry sauce were laid on a beautiful white bone china plate.
I picked up the fork elegantly, dipped the rose petal into the strawberry sauce, and savored the delightful combination. The taste was refreshing and subtly sweet. However, I had this feeling that I hadn't really eaten anything...
I asked the server when the main course would arrive, and he replied that it would take another half an hour.
I smiled and took a sip of champagne, bitterly lamenting to myself, "I'm so hungry right now, could I go back to Yummy Fried Chicken and have some fried chicken?"

From an objective standpoint, I don't possess any particularly appealing qualities, nor do I boast any abilities that bring joy. I'm already profoundly thankful for those who can endure being around me for an extended period of time, who can hold back their dissatisfaction and not secretly undermine me. Yet, you always say, "Ga-eun is the best."
I'm still trying to understand why you would have such an impression of me. It's as if, aside from my family, you're the first person who's genuinely embraced me from the heart. It's a curious sensation, indeed. To be genuinely liked by someone beyond blood relations who once viewed me as a nuisance.
No matter how awful the weather or how late I finish work, I always find myself drawn to Yummy Fried Chicken before heading homme. Sitting at the table you always reserve for me, I savor a portion of friend chicken accompanied by a glass of soju.

Dear Ha-yeon,

If a pair of hands, scarred and calloused from the wounds of the past, can grip a rough hemp rope without flinching, or hold a cup of hot tea without being scalded, can they also hold onto a friend's hand or embrace a loved one?
Those who are truly strong don't just heal their own wounds and safeguard themselves from further harm. Beyond that, they believe unwaveringly in their pursuit of happiness and are certain that happiness awaits them in the future.
