Letters[]
First Letter
Cat yokai
Your name is Mangetsu, right? You're a peculiar one, cat yokai, and I don't mean it in a bad way. We've spent some time together, and I just think you're different from the other yokai.
Most of the yokai I've met are weak and arrogant, and love disrupting human lives. They're scared of evil beings, and like to bully the kind. However, you're different from them, and you're willing to communicate with humans. I've spent a long time thinking about it, and I think "peculiar" is the best word to describe you.
At any rate, you seem different form the other yokai. I don't really detest you.

Second Letter
Mangetsu, the cat yokai
I've mulled over things after reading your letter, and I believe my irritation back then stemmed from the feeling of being denied.
Effort makes a difference, even for simple things like eating and drinking. Regardless of how talented I am, I wouldn't have gotten so far if I had done nothing at all. The world is cruel like that. Just like others, I've put in a lot of effort to achieve my goals.
However, there's one thing we can take heart in. There isn't anything that can't be achieved in this world. It all depends on whether you're willing to do it. It's up to you to achieve your goals.
Argh, I didn't mean to complain to you. This is proof that there is something lacking in my training.
Tenho
Third Letter
Mangetsu
I've already spoken so much. It's my turn to ask about you. You said you came to the human realm to help Yuta search for his missing Origin Pearl. What do you intend to do after finding it? Whatever it is, I believe you will be able to do it.
I know you're most probably amazed that I would even say such things. I only said that because I can tell you're not the type to give up until you've achieved what you set out to do. Just say the word if you ever need my help.
Needless to say, you should give up now if you're intending to harm any humans. I'll be around to protect them, after all.

Tenho's Story[]
Disclaimer: The following section contains spoilers for Miss Kitty's Antiques. Please proceed with caution. |
The following segments detail Tenho's story throughout Miss Kitty's Antiques. This section is nothing but spoilers. Read at your own risk.
Before the Story
Tenho was born in a family of onmyojis, whom have existed for at least a hundred years since the forming of the Ancient Pact between humankind and yokai. Having worked hard since childhood with rewarding results, he was deemed by many to be a prodigy that appears once every thousand years, having displayed exceptional mastery over the skill of exorcism at a tender age. While he is known to have an arrogant and conceited personality, Tenho has also been shown to be fairly reasonable, being able to recognise Mangetsu for her efforts to make peace with humans despite being a yokai herself, and even goes so far as to encourage her in his letters.
In his childhood, he grew up alongside two other friends; Fujihime and Ki, whom he calls Fuji-chan and Kiki respectively. Ten years before the story, a yokai, aware of Kiki's relationship with Yuta, tricked her into breaking the seal of Orochi in order to lure Yuta out of hiding. This caused a great flood to engulf the city that swept her away in the process. Although Tenho eventually managed to seal Orochi away, this tragedy and the loss of Kiki resulted in the rooting of his immense hatred towards yokai, as well as a lifelong goal to rid the world of yokai. Afterwards, he would grow up into a highly-respected onmyoji, whose power level rivals even that of the currently existing Supreme Four such as Yuta and Yuga.
While Kiki was presumed to have died in the flood, her physical body was never found, which made Tenho believe in the possibility that she was still alive somewhere, and has been searching for her ever since.

Trivia[]
- Based on the timeline of events in the story, Tenho is likely to be at least, if not, eighteen years old at the start of the story.
- In the Chinese and Japanese translation, Tenho's name is written as 天昊 (Chinese: tiān hào, romanized as tenhao in the Japanese script)
- 天 means "heavens" or "sky", while 昊 means "vast sky", possibly referring to his prodigious abilities as an outstanding onmyoji.
