More adventures mean more danger. The wilderness is vast, so vast that people will release what's been suppressed deep in their hearts. They are like jackals and wolves, and any lone traveler will become their prey. Men are like this, and women are even more vulnerable to them, being seen as weak and helpless lambs that can be divided and eaten by everyone. I understand that you are not a weak person, but self-preservation is difficult when facing a pack of wolves.
